Federal law should make it easier for workers to form a union.
Workers form a union under the National Labor Relations Act, usually through a secret-ballot election. Proposals in Congress would add other ways to form one and raise penalties on employers who break the law.

It would eliminate secret ballots for workers so that they can choose whether or not they want to belong to a union.
I remain adamantly opposed to the Employee Free Choice Act because it would eliminate the long-standing guarantee of a secret ballot for employees voting whether or not to be represented by a union.
