Maine should reduce total state spending below current levels.
Maine's two-year general fund budget is roughly $12 billion. This would shrink overall state spending rather than hold it steady or let it grow.

The point is not to cut valuable programs, but to cut and end the waste, the fraud, the incompetence, the indifference and the corruption.
It's double what it was seven years ago. We will get rid of all of that waste. We will literally set up a kind of DOGE here in Maine, and get back to a Norman Rockwell accountability.
