Illinois should cut total state spending below this year's level.
Illinois' general budget has grown to roughly $55 billion a year, up from about $34 billion in 2019. Cutting total spending would require reductions in areas such as schools, Medicaid, pensions or state operations.

my view of government is usually it's too big and it needs to shrink.
It needs to be broken down. It needs to be audited. It needs to be opened up so that people know where the money's coming from.
