Alabama should expand Medicaid to cover more low-income adults.
Alabama is one of the states that has not expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, so most low-income adults without children do not qualify. Expansion would cover adults up to 138 percent of the federal poverty line, with the federal government paying most of the cost.
